Your boards on iPad

DEX 0 App saves boards, strokes, and playback history locally on iPad. This site does not receive your boards. Deleting a board or the app's data removes the corresponding local content, subject to any copies you have kept, including system backups.

Optional project files and cloud copies

In DEX 0 App version 0.1.3 and later, you can export a .dex project or enable automatic copies in a folder you select through Files. This is off by default. If you choose iCloud Drive or another cloud provider, that provider stores the project under your existing account and handles upload and retention. Files can include editable board content, embedded images, Pencil strokes, and replay history; they do not include pairing keys or Mac source code.

Opening a .dex file restores a new local copy. Turning off automatic copies or deleting a local board does not delete exported files or cloud copies. Manage those files in Files or through the selected provider. Recovery on another device requires that the upload has completed and that you can access the same provider account.

When you connect an agent

The iPad sends messages and the necessary board context to DEX Zero Hub over the local network. The agent configured on your Mac may send this context to its provider to generate a response. Shared content may include text, transcripts, drawings, selections, recent strokes, board screenshots, and captures of your development app. DEX 0 App does not send microphone audio to its agents.

The provider handles this data under its policies and your account settings. Before sharing sensitive information, check the terms of your chosen agent and service. Your agent credentials are configured on Mac; this site does not request them. Agent tools may keep local conversation history on your Mac; deleting a DEX 0 App board does not delete that history or copies held by the provider. Review your provider account controls for those copies. The optional refinement service has a separate permission, described below.

Voice and permissions

When you choose to use voice and grant microphone and speech recognition access, DEX 0 App uses on-device speech recognition; when unavailable, use the keyboard. The transcript may be sent to the agent as part of the conversation. Local network access lets DEX 0 App find and connect to your Mac.

Hub features may request macOS permissions, such as screen recording, when you use functions that require them. You can review or revoke permissions in your iPad or Mac settings.

Optional refinement

Refinement has its own permission, separate from connecting your personal agent. When enabled in an enrolled Hub and authorized on iPad, short ambiguous navigation requests can send a compact transcript, selected object identifiers, and board text to the DEX 0 App service hosted on Cloudflare. The service uses Typesafe (Jev), OpenAI, or Anthropic to choose among existing board objects. This version does not send audio, images, screenshots, or strokes to that service.

The DEX 0 App service stores hashes of anonymous activation codes and device credentials, their expiration and revocation status, and daily request counters for access and cost controls. It does not persist transcripts or board content, and application logs do not include request content or credentials. Cloudflare and the selected model provider may process technical data and inputs under their policies. Their retention is not controlled by deleting a local board. See Typesafe, OpenAI, Anthropic, and Cloudflare.

You can revoke refinement permission in the board library settings and continue using your personal agent. Cloud credentials stay in the Mac Keychain; customers do not provide model API keys. Access is currently restricted to manually activated pilot installations. Automatic subscription activation is not part of this pilot.

Accounts and control

DEX 0 App does not require or create an account. Boards are stored on your iPad. Before connecting an agent, the app asks permission to share requests and context with your Mac and its configured AI provider, including OpenAI or Anthropic. You can revoke this permission in the board library settings and continue working locally.

Shared context can include transcripts, recent strokes, selections, drawings, and screenshots. The local Hub connection uses TLS with a strong pairing key stored in the device Keychain. Revoke pairing in DEX Zero Hub to invalidate the previous key. Content already received by your provider remains subject to its retention policy and your account settings.

This site and downloads

This site does not add advertising tools, marketing tracking, or signup forms. Hosting and file delivery may process technical data, such as IP address, time, and request information, for operation and security.

Links to the App Store and external services take you to environments with their own policies. Do not send account data or credentials through links you do not recognize.

Your rights and contact

Depending on applicable law, you may request information about how your data is handled, access, correction, or deletion, among other rights. See ANPD's guidance on data subject rights (in Portuguese).
